Anyone Remember These Sodas Form the Late 50's and 60's?

1. A&W Root Beer

2. Dad’s Old Fashioned Root Beer

3. Grape Knee Hi

4. Orange Nesbits

5. Strawberry Soda

6. Cherry Soda

7. Dr. Pepper ( has prune juice in it)

8. Cream Soda

9. Canada Dry Ginger Ale

10. RC Cola

Here is a site that carries these kinds of vintage sodas/soft drinks
Fresca yes I forgot about that one. It was made from grapefruit wasn’t it? I think that was in the 70′s.

edit- thanks for reminding me of the Bubble Up. I had forgotten about that too. I used to drink that as well as 7 Up.

Re: Prune juice and Dr. Pepper. This was what was told to us back then on tv. I do not believe that the company is going to tell you all that is in Dr. Pepper, and truthfully it tastes like prune juice is in it. :)

Yes, also Vernors Ginger Ale, Hires Root Beer, and a cherry coke was made by adding cherry syrup to the coke which was hand made. Also at one time from Lil Abner, wasn’t there Kickapoo Joy Juice?

You can get A&W, Canada Dry, and RC Cola at pretty much any supermarket in the United States.

Dr. Pepper never had prune juice.

uh… I wouldn’t call them vintage…. it’s not like they’re hard to find, or can only be found in a few places at jacked up prices… they are just regular soda pop found in all the places you normally find any other soda, grocery stores, gas stations, convenience stores, fast food places.

dr. pepper tastes like it has prune in it, but it doesn’t.

added: company has to tell people if it does or not in case someone is allergic to prunes.

I remember a soda as a kid when we traveled… it was called Green River. It was on the order of Mtn Dew, but more limey than lemony and a touch more lime coloring. That one I have not seen since the 60s or 70s. I also liked Tab. or Diet Rite. I still see those 2 at the store.

Do you remember that grapefruit flavoured Fresca?

I used to love a drink from somewhere int he Mid-West. It was called Cherry Julip…and it was my all-time favourite. Second to that was mello-yellow.

I have not seen knee hi in like forever. I think you can still get nesbits in a few places, though.

RC cola and a moon pie!

    Where’s the site?

A&W Root Beer is still around, I love it!
There’s Fanta, Minute Maid Strawberry Soda.
There’s also different brands of Cherry Soda
Never heard of Dr. Pepper with prune juice (doesn’t sound too good)
A&W makes Cream Soda, best soda I’ve ever tasted.
Canada Dry and RC Cola are still around.
