Can I Grow Periwinkle Vinca Vine in a Container?

I have a little garden plot outside my front door. The previous tenant planted Irises and periwinkle vinca vine there. I like the vinca, but its getting out of control and killing the irises. I want to dig the vine out, leave the irises and plant a less invasive ground cover. As for the vinca, is it possible to plant it in an outdoor container?

Yes periwinkle vines look very nice in containers because the fall over the sides or climb up the hanging basket wire.
    Go for it.

o sure, they will do great in your pot. you can also leave them where they are @ and cut them back. just gather all the vines laying on the ground in one hand about 10 in. from the ground, cut with scissors. you can feep them cut back as short as you want. hope this helped & enjoy your vincca

You can pretty much grow anything in a container, it just restricts the roots, so bigger things will not get as big.
