Can You Grow Grapes the First Year the Grape Vines Are Planted?

so my family just planted two grape vines and i was wondering if the grapes will start growing the first year. so like any farmers or granders know the answer? thanks if u do!

    No. The growth during the year is the part of the plant that will bear fruit the following season. There may be some hybrids that I’m not familiar with that grow differently, but this has been my experience.

    I take it you’re using rootstock for grapes for wine? Fresh rootstock takes a good 7 years to bear fruit and also need to be cross-pollinated. That’s the general rule. For eating-grapes, it’s probably shorter. Wine grapes need very careful cultivation.

    SOMETIMES THEY DONT EVEN GROW GRAPES.
