Constipated After Anal Sex?
Four days ago I tried anal sex with my boyfriend. We did it for about ten minutes and it wasn’t uncomfortable nor painful, but now I haven’t had a bowel movement and I’m wondering if it is to blame? I tend to have a bm at least once a day so this is very strange. I’ve tried drinking more water, eating grapes and prunes, and so far no luck. I’m scared I could’ve done some permanent damage. How long until it goes away, or should I see a doctor?
You don’t need a doctor, at least not yet. Four days is a long time without a movement, but it is not unheard of. If it gets to be a week or 10 days, you might want to call your doc for a prescription, but it is not a big deal so far.
There is nothing about anal sex itself that could cause constipation. In fact, many women find that the urge to go gets so strong during anal intercourse that they have to run to the bathroom right after. Some women (and all porn stars who do anal) take an enema first, to clean themselves out and reduce the chance of an "accident."
However, it is also pretty natural for you to hold your muscles tight during anal, and I suspect that’s what happened to you. Especially if you were a little scared rather than completely relaxed, it is almost an automatic reaction. Eventually, those muscles will naturally let go, and you will be fine.
BTW, if you try this again, relax as much as possible. Have your boyfriend give you a climax (or two!) with his mouth, his hand, or his penis, before he enters you that way. If you drink, it may also help to have one before you get started. If you are fully relaxed, you will enjoy the sex more and you should not have the same constipation problem afterward.
I think you’re fine and it will all wash out. But 4 days is kinda of a lot. If I were you get some laxatives and flush out your system. If that doesn’t work go see a doctor. Good Luck!
