Contact us for details at propertyprofile@yahoo.com Brokers protected. This winery offers a turnkey operation with the key management and wine making team willing to sign on to keep the highest standards in place. It would suit a group of investors who would like to share the experience of owning a winery and taking turns staying in the 1826 Stone House which is on the property, description below. This winery is located in Lockport, New York and consists of eighty acres on the bench of the historic Niagara Escarpment, located minutes from Niagara Falls, Buffalo Airport, and Lake Ontario. Located on the grounds is a 13000 square foot winery that includes a high end tasting room with artist gallery, restrooms, labs, offices, processing areas , storage, and a new kitchen which will have its own garden to supply fresh vegetables and herbs. No expense was spared in the materials to build this winery or equipment used to produce the world class wines at this facility. This very unique Microclimate was deemed the next Vinifera grape growing region in New York State after a year long study conducted by Cornell University. The area offers the tranquility of country living with hikes across open fields and thru the forests of the Escarpment. It is steeped in history with the folklore of slaves running under the cover of night along the escarpment, across the Niagara River and into the safety and freedom of Canada. They have won internationally recognized awards due to the area’s …

Which regions or countries have the purest environments for producing wine? I have started to drink a little red wine, as i have developed high blood pressure. However i saw on the news recently that some regions which produce red wine are tainted by pollution–such as the Hunter valley region of Australia where strip mining for coal has tainted the air, water and general enviroment. Also some of the crowded regions of the world such as western Europe and california, may be tainted by smog and industrial pollution. Which wine growing area have the most pristine enviroments? Thanks

Probably here in British Columbia where I live. There are wineries here on Vancouver Island, though I don’t think any of them are large enough yet to sell outside of local areas, and there are wineries in the interior of BC, around the Okanagan Valley. Pretty clean up there and many Canadian wines come from there. Oregon is probably pretty clean and there are some very nice Oregon wines. And there’s Washington state too.

It really doesn’t look good for the 2007 year. No awards, no honorable mentions. If you can find 2004 reserves from Murrieta’s wWell, those are excellent!

What is the best Lebanese wine ?

While one may not think of Lebanon as a particularly well-known wine region, Lebanon is one of the oldest, if not the oldest wine producing regions of the world.
Famed for its majesric cedars and mountains, Lebanon, the blessed land of Canaan surrounded by eternal snows, has been a centre of wine making since the dawn of time.
Lebanon’s fertile soils were thus famous for their wines in ancient times, and were highly regarded in Greece, Anatolia and above all in Israel, which maintained close commercial ties with the Phoenicians. Phoenician merchants shipped rich and sweet Lebanese wines in amphoras to all four corners of the Mediterranean, to be drunk by the rich citizens of Athens, Carthage and Rome. Lebanon therefore gets credit for the propagation of wine growing, through its Phoenician ancestors around the Mediterranean, along with the colour purple and the alphabet.

But what is the best Lebanese Wine ?

For me the best are the ones from Zahle region : KSARA
I have recomended them to a friend about 2 months ago, but he was more interested at the cheeses from that zone.

Are you reading my reply……???

In our first installment of “NWWN In Depth,” we score an interview with one of Washington Wines’ leading men. Master of Wine Bob Betz has helped promote and grow the industry for decades. He knows his wine, yet is warm and friendly to those just learning about vino. Northwest Wine Night host Brian Calvert spent a few minutes with Bob during a recent bottling day at Betz Family Winery. Bob talked about the beginning of the wine industry in Washington, how far it’s come, and it’s challenges ahead. This is a really interesting lesson told by one of the vintners who helped put Washington on the map as a serious player when it comes to wine! Northwest Wine Night is a weekly show on the Internet that introduces you to four wines made in the Pacific Northwest on every episode. You can watch it at www.NorthwestWineNight.com For more information about Betz Family Winery – http
