Kakheti is justly renowned as the most important wine-growing region of Georgia. Every village produces its own kind of wine, some of which will rival more famous labels like Tsinandali or Napareuli. The most visited towns in Kakheti are Telavi and Signagi. Telavi is considered as the administrative and cultural center of this region. Narrow, tortuous streets and wooden balconies create some special atmosphere. The old part with different historical monuments is surrounded by 17th century city wall and towers. Until recently there were only some family hotels, but now Signagi features couple of hotels, where you can find pleasurable atmosphere and well-known Georgian hospitality.
