black dot in the watermelon?

Hello, I live in Pennsylvania, and Watermelon seed planted in late May, I never ever expected to grow did before, but for some reason, the watermellons grown, and now I have one the size of a grapefruit, and the size of a golf ball, now I think the biggest problem is be growing, I think they are small, they bought small plants in a garden, and displays the picture looks like a round ball, Anda less than a foot wide, so and has a small black dot on the top of the same on the size of a nickle.can be saved? Have I done somthing wrong? What should I do with it, and how I can prevent this from happening to another

From my experience, you can have one of two problems: 1) If the black dot at the tip of your melon, you may call "Rot." As mentioned earlier, you must remove the fruit and discard. This is usually caused by moisture on uneven terrain. Try mulch around plant and water as needed or 2) If your melon is showing signs of black rot occur elsewhere in the apical …. probably "Belly Rot" (Yes, that's what he called!). You can eliminate this problem by caging or staking melons so do not come into contact with the ground and try to improve soil drainage around the area. I hope to be able to save the existing melons and find this information a little help! GOOD LUCK!
