Anaheim, California – the glorious home of Disneyland!
The Californian city of Anaheim celebrates its 150th anniversary this year. Located in Orange County, 28 miles southwest of Los Angeles, Anaheim is home to the famous Disneyland, and the champion of champions of the Mighty Ducks hockey and Major League World Series winners in 2002, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Founded in 1857 by 50 German families, Anaheim literally means "House of Anne, the name of the river near Santa Ana, and the German word for home – "heim." Families who founded the city, just behind came from Bavaria. They specialize in growing and breeding of grapes and winemaking.
