How Long Will Homemade Grape Juice Last in Fridge for Jelly Making?

I picked, boiled, and extracted the juice from my home-grown vine grapes, but wasn’t able to make the jelly right away. I put a lid on the large 8-cup glass measuring bowl and put in the fridge. It’s been about 4 or 5 days and now I have time to make the jelly… is the juice safe to use or do I have to throw it out?

tab-as long as you kept it in the fridge covered it should last about a week, uncovered, you’d be pushin it at 5 days….love ya-hope it comes out great-just remember for future-it’s always best as fresh as possible! Give Jim & the kids a hug for me-love ya! PS….things have worked themselves out b/t me & Rick-I’m getting very forgiving in my friggin old age! we talked a lot out that was botherin both of us, and we’re gonna have our 1 yr anniv. on 9/10 of this year-a record for me for the last 10 years! I’m sure it’s fine. Just smell it. Hey, if you leave it long enough, you might have some homemade wine!

Yes, I would think is should be great. To be sure, taste it, if the grape juice has turned, it will either taste sort of like vinegar or wine, but won’t harm you. Actually if the grape juice has a winey flavor, it should make some interesting jelly. If the problem comes up again, freeze the grape juice or any fruit you plan on using at a later date.
