OUR World's Climate Is Changing or Man Are Shifting the Plants everywhere.Grapes Can Grow in Tropical Malaysia?

Four years ago I posted a comment in Yahoo Answers about growing grapes in Malaysia.I got all sorts of funny answers, including one which suggest me to plant grapes in air condition green house. NOW I am harvesting grapes and enjoying the fruit of my labour. Organic grape juice, organic grape vinegar anyone?

Plants have amazing abilities to withstand variations in their climate. But most likely you have chosen a variety of grape that has been created for hotter humid conditions. Many countries are growing grapes and producing even wine that was unheard of years ago when basically only the Italy, Portugal, Spain and the US produced wine.

Now just look at the wine labels in a liquor store. As an avid gardener, there are many strains of plants I wish I could grow in the cold weather in NJ, but just can’t. But then all of the sudden there are strains that can survive the winter. It’s all the work of brilliant plant breeders around the globe.

People have been moving plants to different environments for thousands of years. With varying results. Sometimes plants haven’t read the technical manuals, and will end up growing where they "shouldn’t". I love the natural world – it’s always full of surprises!

Sure, send some of that juice my way! (On second thought…the shipping charges would be killer…)
