Trying to Stop Eating Meat, Will This Diet Work?

I am trying to cut meat out of my diet for health reasons, im in great shape 18 yrs 140 lbs 5′ 9" male, but i thought why not.
but i want to make sure i still get enough protein and i dont like the idea of eating nuts because of the high levels of fat, but if i eat salmon twice a week for dinner and then the rest of the time eat this diet below, will i be getting all the protein and fats i need? or do i need to add more protein and if so what would be a good healthy option? Ne way, if i eat
Breakfast: 2 packs original oatmeal with a banana + small glass of prune juice
Lunch: pear, carrots, grapes, & strawberries, also every once in a while an orange
Dinner: (vegetables or beans, or both) and sometimes pasta
and then of course twice a week grilled salmon
and all i drink is water minus the glass of prune juice in the morning

    1. that’s not enough calories to maintain your weight. you’d lose weight
    2. salmon is meat. it’s an animal
    3. vegetarian isn’t necessarily healthier than meat eater (I’m a vegetarian, but the whole health reason thing is bs) I do it for the animals
    4. it’s virtually impossible to get a protein deficiency. as long as you eat the right number of calories, you’ll end up getting the right amount of protein. it’s in everything from veggies to nuts to fruits. you don’t need meat for protein.

Oh, don’t be ignorant. Dietary fat is not bad for you (except for trans fat), and unsaturated fat, which is the kind in nuts, is very healthy.

Your shocking ignorance shines throughout your "diet plan." Random fruit is not lunch.

Breakfast: only eat one pack because the second is adding additional calories. But you’re tall and in shape so you’re probably good. But add some fruits in the morning.
Lunch: Add some nuts (unsalted) and drink a light soy milk.
Dinner: Good choice. Although Salmon is considered a meat :)

    You’re doing good!

    Good Luck!

@Ulrina: beans is a great alternative to meat. Beans are full of protein.

This has very little protein. A couple of portions of fish a week will not do it. You actually need a portion with each meal. Vegetarian sources are things like beans, cheese, tofu, nuts or dairy products.
I know nuts do contain fat but it’s the healthy, monounsaturated fats which are great for your body so you don’t need to worry about it.
Do try to incorporate at least one of these into each meal.

Salmon is meat. Fish are actually very smart animals.
That isn’t enough calories. Your 18 you should be eating lots! And you sound like your starving yourself. There is protein in other things besides nuts. You can try eating substitute meats. Boca and Morning Star are great substitutes. You need to eat more than fruit for lunch. Eat a protein salad or something. Your going to whither away to nothing.
