What Weed Killer Is Best for Vine-Type Weeds That Grow Up a Chain-Link Fence?

I want something that will rid my fenceline of this annoying viney weed. It spreads quickly and I know if I didnt pull them out, they would take over the whole fence, as it did 20 years ago when my parents lived here. Should I use roundup? That really did a great job on ridding my yard of dandelions last year, with only one application to the roots of HUGE "systems" clumps of the lil effers.

see my other questions if you can help with more lawn/garden questions.

Round up will get the job done. Although it is a little strong for Dandelions. I use Ortho Weed-B-Gone and it does well without killing the grass.

I have seen people take a 6" wide piece of plastic, or rubber, or even brass and place it under the chain link fence. That way the grass and weeds won’t grow and wrap around the fence, and there is no trimming either. You just run the lawnmower alongside the fence and it’s all nice and neat. Big time saver. Think about it. good luck

Mix the Round Up a little stronger for vines. You can also take a sponge and wipe it on the leaves to kill the vine if you are afraid of over spray.
